Abstract :
In an electron donor–acceptor system composed of pyrene and N,N-dimethylaniline doped in a polymer film, electric-field-induced quenching of fluorescence becomes less efficient noticeably in the presence of a magnetic field both for exciplex fluorescence and for LE fluorescence emitted from the locally excited state of pyrene. It is suggested that fluorescent exciplex quenched by an electric field is formed via a dissociative radical–ion pair produced by applying an external electric field.
