Abstract
Thermal effects related to the processes of formation and disappearance of the surface occurring during the motion of gas bubbles (droplets) in a uniform liquid are considered. Their relation to the thermocapillary motion is discussed. It is shown that for millimeter-size bubbles floating in water under the effect of Archimedes’ force, temperature drop in the front and rear parts of the bubble amounts to a few tenths of a degree and can be measured in experiments. Experimentally observed temperature gradients were shown to appear in a liquid during the motion of a bubble swarm.
