Abstract :
A new investigation techniques for exploring electrochemical processes on the surface of colloids adsorbed on a substrate electrode was developed. Underpotential deposition of lead on Ag, Au and Ag–Au colloids was studied, and the processes of Pbad deposition thereon were shown to be similar to those on the respective bulk electrodes. It was found that bimetallic Ag–Au colloids are distinguished by forming an alloy either just during co-reduction of AgNO3 and NaAuCl4 or with time if the individual Ag and Au sols were mixed.
