Abstract :
It is reported here that colossal constant magnetoresistance (CCMR) over the whole temperature range below the insulator–metal transition can be realized at low magnetic fields through doping 4% Cu in the sol–gel prepared La2/3Ca1/3MnO3 sample sintered at 950 °C. The magnetoresistance defined as MR0=ρ(T,H=0)−ρ(T,H)ρ(T,H=0) or MR=ρ(T,H=0)−ρ(T,H)ρ(T,H),it is shown that the CCMR has values of MR0 (MR) as high as ∼60% (∼1.3×102%), ∼90% (∼1.2×103%) and ∼100% (∼3×104%) for magnetic fields of H=0.1, 0.3 and 1 T, respectively.
