Abstract
We investigate the electrostatic screening phenomena with divalent, trivalent and tetravalent salt ions on charged surfaces. The integrated charge distribution function is studied to clarify the structure of the electric double-layers on spherical colloids and charged rods by Monte Carlo simulations. The profiles of electric double-layers show that the charge inversion phenomena with divalent salt are sensitive to the size of microions. These results reflect the importance of the nonlinearity and excluded-volume effect on strongly charged systems in an aqueous solution.
