Abstract :
The low-frequency elastic and dielectric properties of composite materials prepared by embedding of vinylidene fluoride–tetrafluoroethylene (V DF88/Te12) and vinylidene fluoride–trifluoroethylene (V DF60/Tr40) polar copolymers in porous glass matrices with a mean pore diameter of around 320 nm were investigated in the temperature range 150–330 K. Maxima of internal friction have been found near the glass transition temperatures T g 1 and T g 2 of the polymer amorphous fraction. Strong dielectric relaxation with characteristic time corresponding to the Williams–Landel–Ferry law was observed in the vicinity of temperature T g 1 . An increase ( ≈ 10 K) of T g 1 temperature of the amorphous fraction of incorporated polymeric materials was detected. It was found that the low-frequency dielectric and mechanical losses in the vicinity of T g 1 are due to the same mechanism.
