Abstract :
Magnetic Co–W–Mn films were deposited in a sulfate electrolyte in both the presence and the absence of sodium thiosulfate. When sodium thiosulfate is added, the cathodic process is depolarized, the rate of coating deposition increases and the phase composition of coatings, as well as their morphology, changes. In addition, very fine-grained Co–W–Mn films are characterized by enhanced luster, corrosion resistance, hardness, and lower coercive force and magnetic squareness.
