Mechanical and chemical properties of PBIID-treated plastics

We examined the mechanical and chemical properties of plastics with surfaces modified using plasma-based ion implantation and deposition (PBIID). The surface modification of plastics using a fast and large-area process is required for micro-electrical applications. Experimental results show that high-impact-resistance and micro-fabricated plastics can be processed within a few minutes.
