Abstract :
The internal stress and wear durability of electron-cyclotron-resonance-sputtered carbon films changed with variation of the bias voltage. The wear durability of the films increased with increasing internal stress. By depositing films at both low and high bias voltage, it is possible to reduce the internal stress and ensure high wear durability.
