Detection and identification of pinholes in plasma-polymerised thin film barrier coatings on metal foils

Investigations of barrier coatings on metal foils are presented. The coating materials are plasma-polymerised quartz-like silicon oxide and silicon nitride deposited with the low-pressure microwave plasma source Duo-Plasmaline. er to detect and identify pinholes, the new test equipment based on a chemical electrolysis reaction was developed.
