Abstract :
The electrochemical deposition of some ceramic particles (SiC, Al2O3, SiO2) with nickel was investigated at different current densities (1–3 A/dm2) in an aqueous-diethanolamine bath containing nickel sulphamate and boric acid. The incorporation of ceramic particle in the film was observed to increase with an increase in current density. The morphology of the film was examined by SEM and structure by XRD. The SiC was found to be codeposited in higher content in comparison with Al2O3 and SiO2 in the deposit. Wide dispersion of the particles in nickel was observed containing wide ranged particle size.
