Abstract :
The self-assembly membranes (SAMs) were prepared on aluminum alloy at three different temperatures. The surface morphology and composition of the SAMs were analyzed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive X-rays (EDX) analysis and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The electrochemical properties of Al alloy with SAMs and bare Al alloy were investigated by potentiodynamic polarization and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy in a 3.5 wt.% NaCl solution. The measured EIS data was simulated by an equivalent circuit. The results demonstrated that the surface of Al alloy was well covered by the self-assembly membrane with a better corrosion resistance and the corrosion current density of SAMsʹ sample at 80 °C was 3.033 × 10− 9 A/cm2, which was lower than the bare Al alloy resistance.
