Abstract
In methylene chloride at 0 °C N-acyl-β-hydroxy-4-phenyl-oxazolidinethiones could be rapidly converted into corresponding ethyl thioesters in high yields by treatment with EtSH in the presence of a catalytic amount of DBU.
