Abstract :
An expedient synthesis of quinolactacin A2 from N-methylisatoic anhydride and N-Boc-(2S,3S)-isoleucine has been achieved. The key step involves the Friedländer-type annulation of isatoic anhydride and β-ketoester derived from isoleucine.
