Abstract :
Oxidation of 6-hydroxyflavone 1 and 6-hydroxyflavanones 2a–c with iodobenzene diacetate (IBD) in acetic acid leads to regioselective acetoxylation, thereby providing a novel and convenient route for the synthesis of 5-acetoxylated products.
