Abstract :
The synthesis of 3-methyltetrahydroisoquinolines and 3,4-dimethyltetrahydroisoquinolines from aromatic aminoalkenes using intramolecular hydroamination reactions, mediated by sub-stoichiometric amounts of n-butyllithium, is described.
