Direct synthesis of Stryker’s reagent from a Cu(II) salt

A convenient, one-pot procedure for the preparation of [(PPh3)CuH]6 from a Cu(II) precursor, Cu(OAc)2 in the presence of organosilanes as the reducing agent is described. This method provides a simple route to Stryker’s reagent without the necessity of preparing and purifying reagents in additional steps.
