Base-catalyzed condensation of β-bromovinylaldehydes with β-ketoesters followed by water-mediated cyclization and aromatization: one-pot access to substituted benzene derivatives

A simple, convenient, one-pot synthetic approach towards substituted benzene derivatives using base-catalyzed condensation of β-bromovinylaldehydes with β-ketoesters followed by water-mediated cyclization and aromatization has been developed.
