A comparison of womenʹs and menʹs symptoms during home recovery after coronary artery bypass surgery

Objective: pare womenʹs and menʹs recovery symptoms during home recovery after coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG). : econdary analysis used a survey design. Unlike men, women described numbness and discomfort in their breasts during the first weeks of recovery. Womenʹs and menʹs recovery emotions centered on concerns associated with their social circumstances. Women were more likely to be older, unemployed, unmarried, and live alone, and they were anxious about who would care for them during home recovery and where that recovery would take place.
