Abstract :
Electrophilic cyclization of N′-(2-alkynylbenzylidene)hydrazides with I2, Br2, or ICl under mild conditions is described. This reaction proceeds smoothly in dichloromethane at room temperature, which provides a useful method for the synthesis of functionalized isoquinolinium-2-yl amide.
