Abstract :
Asymmetric synthesis of α-methylene bis-γ-butyrolactone has been synthesized using titanocene(III) chloride as a radical source. Titanocene(III) chloride (Cp2TiCl) was prepared in situ from commercially available titanocene dichloride (Cp2TiCl2) and zinc dust in THF.
