Organocatalyzed cycloaddition of carbon dioxide to aziridines

An efficient and simple process for the fixation of carbon dioxide (CO2) to aziridine for the synthesis of 2-oxazolidinone by using DBN as catalyst, LiI as an additive under atmospheric pressure was developed. This chemical fixation of CO2 could also be carried out at room temperature with prolonged reaction time.
