Abstract
This case and those previously reported suggest that oxalate-induced cardiomyopathy should not be considered a contraindication to combined renal and liver transplantation. These patients have a rapid improvement in cardiac function after transplantation, and we have shown pathologic evidence of clearance of myocardial oxalate stores by endomyocardial biopsy. Correlation of our biopsy results with serial technetium-99m MDP scans have confirmed the usefulness of this study for following cardiac oxalate deposits in this setting.
