Effect of vitamin E on the anticoagulant response to warfarin

Contrary to recent recommendations,13 our findings suggest that moderate to large doses of vitamin E can be safely used in patients receiving warfarin, and that treatment with vitamin E is not contraindicated in these patients. However, because it is always wise to retest the INR or prothrombin time several days after starting a new drug, we recommend retesting the INR approximately 1 to 2 weeks after starting vitamin E therapy.
