Abstract :
This study demonstrated that the location of the dispersive electrode has no significant effect on impedance, voltage, current delivery, and tip temperature during radiofrequency catheter ablation. In addition, the study also showed that doubling the surface area of the dispersive electrode resulted in lower impedance, higher current delivery, andincreased tip temperatures, particularly when the baseline impedance was >100 Ω. These findings may have important implications for optimizing radiofrequency energy delivery using currently available radiofrequency generators.
