Abstract
There is a high prevalence (56.61,000 live births) of isolated muscular VSD in preterm neonates. The patients appear clinically healthy, and in 87.5% of cases the VSD spontaneously closed within 6 to 11 months. Thus, the prevalence and rate of spontaneous closure are similar to those in full-term neonates.
