Abstract
An I2–NaOAc mediated one-pot process for the oxidative dimerization of indolizines under mild conditions is described. The reaction afforded a variety of products in good to excellent yields from indolizines with acceptor groups. Macrocyclic systems with the biindolizine fragment(s) were also synthesized from monoindolizinylquinoxaline podands under the same conditions.
