Abstract :
In conclusion, we found that the addition of moderate aerobic exercise to medical antihypertensive therapy in African-American patients with severe hypertension attenuates excessive elevations in BP during physical exertion even with modest reductions in BP at rest. This reflects a lower myocardial oxygen demand offering additional cardioprotection in these high-risk patients.
