Abstract :
We have devised an expedient, cleaner, and environmentally friendly approach for ‘on water’ mediated synthesis of imidazo[1,2-a]pyridine derivatives. The synthesis involves in situ formation of imines followed by addition of alkyne to give the desired products in excellent yield.
