Abstract :
A series of aryl-substituted dithiafulvenes (DTFs) has been synthesized and characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis, UV–Vis absorption spectroscopy, and cyclic voltammetry. The studies indicate that the aryl-substituents not only affect the structures and electronic properties of the DTF derivatives, but also impose significant impact on their stability and reactivity when oxidized into radical cations.
