Abstract :
We prospectively studied 490 patients who had a first myocardial infarction and performed a complete 2-dimensional echocardiographic study ≤48 hours of admission. In addition to left ventricular ejection fraction, multiple echocardiographic parameters of left ventricular systolic and diastolic performances were found to be independent predictors of 2-year mortality rate and congestive heart failure.
