Abstract :
In this Letter, the laser-induced florescence excitation spectrum of NiS in the range of 495–555 nm has been observed for first time. The NiS molecular was produced in a supersonic free jet expansion by reacting dc discharge-sputtering nickel atoms with CS2. A [17.4] 3 Σ 0 - – X 3 Σ 0 - band system involving six vibrational bands with the transition from v″ = 0 to v′ = 2–7 has been identified and analyzed. Through rovibrational analysis, the molecule constants of the [17.4] 3 Σ 0 - and X 3 Σ 0 - state for 58NiS and 60NiS have been determined first time.
