Abstract :
An improved basis set in Hylleraas co-ordinate has been used for estimating highly precise energy value of the doubly excited (2p2)3Pe state of singly ionized Li. The upper bound energy E = −1.79 664 809 971 87 a.u. calculated by us is the lowest yet obtained.
