Abstract
Evaluation of the eigenvalues of the bond–bond polarisability matrix for Möbius monocycles indicates that the apparent natural C2 symmetry of Möbius π systems is not a consequence of π distortivity but rather is due to the release of strain in the σ-skeleton.
