Dependence of the average energy transferred per collision of highly vibrationally excited polyatomic molecules on the excitation energy

The analytical model interpreting and predicting the dependence of the average energy transferred per collision on the initial energy of a molecule is developed. The validity of the theory is tested for SO2 and CS2 molecules in collisions with noble-gas atoms.
