Abstract :
Potential energy curves of the 3 3 Σ g + and a 3 Σ u + states of Cs2 have been determined in the framework of the pseudopotential method. Fifty 3 3 Σ g + v = 2 – 9 ← X 1 Σ g + two-photon transitions of Cs2 have been observed in the near infrared wavelength range. Resolved fluorescence into bound levels and the continuum of the a 3 Σ u + state has been recorded with a monochromator/photomultiplier detection system. Calculated 3 3 Σ g + → a 3 Σ u + fluorescence spectra are compared with observed spectra.
