Abstract :
The single-crystal elastic moduli of the zeolite analcime, | Na 16 + ( H 2 O ) 16 | [ Al 16 Si 32 O 96 ] (structure type ANA), have been determined by inelastic X-ray scattering (IXS). The room temperature values (GPa) are C11 = 103.5 ± 5, C44 = 30.3 ± 2, C12 = 21.7 ± 2. The results demonstrate the applicability of this technique for measuring elastic constants of open three-dimensional structures that include extra-framework species.
