Abstract :
The dynamic behaviors of a nanowire suspended in a TN cell under constant and rotating magnetic field are analyzed, using the method of equivalent capacitance. It is found that the nanowire’s equilibrium position depends largely on its radius, while its relaxation time is determined by its length. A comparison with experiments shows that our calculation agrees well with the experimental results. Through an application of rotating magnetic field to the system, one sees a small fluctuation which is produced by the rotation reversal of the nanowire. Such a fluctuation will disappear once the rotating frequency or the field magnitude is increased.
