Abstract
The transport properties of Argon confined in a single-walled carbon nanotube (SWNT) subjected to a temperature gradient were studied by molecular dynamic simulations. The competition between temperature gradient and concentration gradient resulted in the abnormal transport of Argon and strong inhomogeneous distribution. Velocity was sensitive to factors, such as temperature gradient, density of Argon. There were some particularities if the temperature was low enough. The inhomogeneous distribution became more obvious with the increasing temperature gradient, decreasing density of Argon and average temperature. Our results extend the knowledge of nanoparticles’ transportation and manipulation in SWNT.
