Abstract
ZnO/Ag nanocomposites have been prepared by two-step reduction method. Firstly, ZnO core seeds were prepared by the reaction of zinc acetate with KOH under magnetic stirring condition in the presence of poly (N-vinyl-2-pyrrolidone) (PVP). Then, Ag nanoparticles were overgrown on ZnO core seeds with reduction by PVP. ZnO/Ag nanocomposites were characterized by TEM, photoluminescence, UV–visible absorption spectra and XRD. ZnO/Ag nanocomposites exhibit excellent resonance Raman properties. It was found that the metallic Ag in the ZnO/Ag act as electron acceptor to improve the optical properties.
