Abstract
Isotope effects caused by the H/D substitution on 13C NMR spectra for 20 examples of 1-(2-hydroxyphenyl)-3-aryl-1,3-propanediones are reported in this study. Results are analyzed in terms of the substituent effects. Correlations obtained from the isotopic effect values were used to gain insight on the nature of the different types of hydrogen bonds existing in the molecule.
