Abstract :
The reaction of N-[(E)-(4-chlorophenyl)methylidene]-4H-1,2,4-triazol-4-amine (ClPhtrz), 4,4′-bipyridine (4,4′-bipy) and Cu(An)2·6H2O (An = ClO4− or BF4−) in MeCN/H2O yields two 1-D coordination polymers, namely ∞ 1 { [ Cu ( 4 , 4 ′ -bipy ) ( ClPhtrz ) 2 ( H 2 O ) 2 ] ( An ) 2 · 2 CH 3 CN } , (An = ClO4− (1), BF4− (2). In both compounds triazole ligands are monodently coordinated to metal center. Similar reaction with Cu(NO3)2·3H2O affords ∞ 1 { [ Cu ( 4 , 4 ′ -bipy ) ( CH 3 CN ) ( H 2 O ) ( NO 3 ) ] ( NO 3 ) } (3). Unexpectedly the triazole ligand is not observed in the final product.
