Prediction and calculation of azeotropic behaviour from an equation of state

A new method for prediction and determination of azeotropic behaviour without performing mixture vapour-liquid equilibrium calculations is presented. It can be used for any equation of state and any mixing rule, but it is limited by the pseudocritical parameters of the mixture. The use of the method is demonstrated using cubic equations of state.
