Abstract :
The commercial computer algebra system known as Maple has been extended in order to make possible the automatic symbolic derivation and differentiation of thermodynamic property functions of mixtures with arbitrary numbers of components. The tools described here could be useful in the rapid development of new models for thermodynamic properties (and their derivatives).
