Solid–liquid equilibria of systems containing pyrene and long chain normal-alkanes

Solid–liquid equilibria of five binary systems (C16H10+n-C18H38), (C16H10+n-C28H58), (C16H10+n-C30H62), (C16H10+n-C36H74), and (C16H10+n-C50H102) were measured and corresponding activity coefficients were calculated. UNIFAC model was used to represent experimental results. Reasons of the prediction failure were analysed and discussed. Good representation of solubility diagrams was obtained using partly readjusted UNIFAC parameters.
