Abstract :
Experimental data of vapor–liquid equilibria (VLE) are reported for binary mixtures of ethanol +1,1-dimethylethyl ethyl ether (ETBE) at 313.15, 333.15, 353.15, and 373.15 K. The experimental data as well as data for the systems methanol +1,1-dimethylethyl methyl ether (MTBE) and methanol +1,1-dimethylpropyl methyl ether (TAME) taken from literature are used to test the applicability of the UNIQUAC and the ERAS model to describe VLE. The benefits and drawbacks of both models are discussed.
