Abstract :
The ionic conductivity of poly(ethylene oxide)(PEO)-based Zn(‖) halide electrolytes has been investigated at various temperatures and compositions by AC impedance analysis. To interpret the experimental results, we propose a model based on the Adam–Gibbs configurational entropy model and the extended Floryʹs configurational entropy. Correlating the phase behavior and the ionic conductivity simultaneously is a good approach for understanding the polymer/salt systems. The maximum in conductivity does not occur on the eutectic composition (weight fraction of ZnBr2=0.15), but is slightly shifted to the salt rich region for the PEO/ZnBr2 system. The quantitative description according to the proposed model is in good agreement with the experimental data.
