Abstract
Two different experimental techniques for determination of the solid–liquid–gas (S–L–G) phase equilibria in systems with a compressed gas are presented and compared: the modified capillary method and the modified freezing method. The phase behavior of the binary systems (napthalene/CO2, biphenyl/CO2, vanillin/CO2, ethyl-o-vanillin/CO2, low-density polyethylene/CO2 and benzoic acid/CO2) were determined experimentally with both methods. The S–L–G lines for all systems shows a temperature minimum in the p–T projection. The difference in melting temperature between the two experimental methods was ±0.4 K.
