Abstract :
Sodium acetate effectively catalyzes the three-component reaction between arylaldehydes, malononitrile, and 1,3-dicabonyl compounds such as dimedone, 4-hydroxycoumarin, barbituric acid, and thiobarbituric acid for the formation of corresponding pyran annulated heterocyclic systems. This green method offers the advantages of proceeding, neutral and mild conditions, environmental, lock of toxicity, short reaction time, giving high to excellent yields of the products, and simple work-up.
