Behaviour of brick-filled reinforced concrete T-beams in flexure and shear

The paper presents an experimental investigation on the load carrying capacity of brick-filled reinforced concrete T-beams. The brick-filled T-beams are produced by replacing concrete in the rib portion of the T-beam with locally available standard bricks. The bricks are laid in the core of the rib longitudinally either in one, two or three layers. The study indicates that such replacement has no significant effect on the overall strength of the beams. The results are analysed and an attempt is made to compare them -with analytical ones.
